Why does the pedometer show more steps than it really should be?

The device is very accurate but also sensitive.
It counts every move. If you carry it in your pocket, purse or similar, where the device has a lot of space, it then also registers the device's own movement in the pocket. In general, there are than up to 30% more "steps" done.

Therefore, it is always advisable to wear the device on your body, so that only the body movement is recorded.
